Barbara Fuller Obituary

On April 23, 1938, in Lake City, South Carolina, Elmond Brown and Beulah Cameron Brown were blessed
by the arrival of a beautiful bouncing baby girl, they named her Barbara Jean Brown; a total of eight
children were born to this union.
Barbara was reared in a Christian home and educated in the Florence County School System and upon
graduation from Carver High School she attended and graduated from South Carolina State College
which is now South Carolina State University. After graduating, she moved to Paterson, New Jersey with
her oldest sister Georgia; there she met Lovett Fuller. They were united in holy matrimony and to this
union two daughters Bridget Lenett Fuller-Sewell and Delinda Fuller were added, Barbara and Lovett
have been married for 60 years.
Barbara worked with the Passaic County Public School System where she taught in several schools
including John F. Kennedy High School until her retirement.
Barbara joined Creech Temple United Holy Church of America Inc. under the leadership of Pastor James
C. Creech in 1982. She continued to serve under the leadership of Pastor Moses McKenzie who
proceeded Pastor Creech. Barbara was a member of the Voices Choir, served as the treasurer of the
Mission Department and was the Recording Secretary for the United Holy Church of America, Northern
District until moving to Homestead, FL in 1998. In 1999 Barbara joined Greater New Covenant
Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Covenant Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her
decline.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Elmond and Beulah Brown, three sisters Georgia Barr,
Dorothy Hickson and Gloria Harmon, two brothers Timothy and Herbert Brown and one brother-in-law
Odell Hickson.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Lovett Fuller of Homestead, Florida, two
daughters Bridget Lenett Fuller (Joseph) Sewell and Delinda Fuller both of Homestead, Florida, one sister
Connie (Jackie) Epps of Columbia, South Carolina, one brother Elmond (Della) Brown of Lake City, South
Carolina, one brother-in-law Vernon Harmon of North Carolina, two sisters-in-law Carolyn Brown of
Landover, Maryland and Johnsie Brown of Columbia, South Carolina, 6 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Barbara touched the lives of many with her big heart and generosity. Anyone who had the pleasure of
meeting Barbara, was blessed to be in her presence. Barbara you will be missed but your legacy will live
