Deacon Alex Gordon was the son of the late Eddie Gordon, Sr., and the late Moriah McFadden
Gordon. He was born on July 18th , 1940. This union was blessed with 9 children, seven of whom
preceded Alex in death. Alex attended the public schools of Clarendon County. He was a mechanic and
agricultural farmer for many years, until his health declined.
He joined Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Turbeville, SC, at an early age. Alex sung with many

was affectionately known to many, and his siblings).

was blessed with seven children. Two preceded him in death, his son David Gordon, and his daughter
Susan E. Gordon Burgess. He was also preceded in death by one son in law: Dennis Miller.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory: his caring wife Mrs. Joretha S. Gordon, four beautiful
daughters: Annette Fulton of Scranton, SC, Stacie (Jason) Duffie of Olanta, SC, May Gordon of Coward,
SC, Vickie Miller of Scranton SC, two adoring sons: Clarence Gordon of Scranton, SC and Jonas (Pam)
