Deacon Andy Fulmore Obituary

On Thursday, February 10, 2022 Deacon Andy Fulmore, entered into eternal rest at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Deacon Andy Fulmore was born July 19, 1944 to the late Eddie and Frances R. Fulmore in Williamsburg County. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Fulmore;  his two sisters: Dorothy Fulmore; and Daisy Fulmore; his daughter Mae Frances; his son Danny Hanna;  and his grandchild Hakeem Fulmore. 

He received his education in the Williamsburg County Schools. Later, he joined his father on the farm and worked many years as a farmer in his youth. He was employed by Lake City Cotton Company Lake City, SC; T. S. Ragsdale Lake City, SC and retired from W. Lee Flowers Scranton, SC after 28 years of service. Deacon Andy Fulmore enjoyed growing and working in his garden every year. He also owned and operated his own personal painting business called Fulmore and Sons. His love and dedication to his family  

He met and later joined in holy matrimony to Laura M. Hanna Fulmore in 1963. This union was blessed with eight children. He joined New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, and  was ordained as a deacon; he also was church custodian and musician at the church. He helped the Sunday School department with the Easter program for many years. He started singing with the Royal Lights Gospel Singers at an early age also serving as lead guitar player. He later became the second lead singer and background singer of the group. When the Royal Lights Gospel Singers retired, he continued his singing career with his children who he trained to sing the gospel. While singing with his children he recorded two live albums, and two studio albums, traveling across the country. 

He leaves to cherish his memories with his loving wife Laura M. Fulmore of 58 years. Four sons: Elder Sandy (Apostle Irene) Fulmore; Gregory (Neseline) Fulmore of Florence, SC;  Andrew J. (Lucinda) Fulmore of Lake City; Tedric Fulmore, of Kingstree, SC. Two daughters: Pamela N. Fulmore; of Columbia, SC; Erica Fulmore; of Florence, SC. Grandchildren he helped raise as his own Demekia  Johnson; of Greenville, NC; Jordynn Smith; of Florence, SC. Two grandsons: Jermaine(Yvonne) Fulmore; of Florence, SC; Cameron Johnson; of Columbia, SC. Three sisters: Ruby (Willie) Dowdy; of Teaneck, NJ; Pearlie Fulmore; of Newark, NJ; Cora Brayboy; of Florence, SC; One brother: Charlie (Barbara) Fulmore; Two sisters-in-laws: Katie Rose Gibson; of Hollywood, FL; Patricia Singletary of Lake City, SC;  Three Uncles Hosea (Lue) Graham; of Johnsonville, SC; Amos (Mary) Graham; of Lake City, SC; Dublin(Wanda) Graham; of North Carolina; Fannie Fulmore; of Lake City, SC; Lillie Graham; of North Carolina, Naomi Graham; of Florence, SC; Daisy Bell Green; of Lake City, SC; Elemena Frierson; of Cades, SC. 16 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; One adopted grandson: Edwin "Buddy" Godwin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
