Obituary

Mr. Joe “Little Joe” Robinson was born January 26, 1945 in Florence County SC to the
late Calvin Sr and Renetta Robinson. “Little Joe” was loved by all, and was known for greeting
you with a smile.
“Little Joe” was educated in the public schools of Florence County. He journeyed to
Connecticut where he worked for several years. After missing home, he returned to his beloved
Coward, SC and found employment. He retired from SOCAR, Inc. in 2008 after 35 years as a
dedicated welder/fabricator.
At an early age he joined Savannah Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He served as the
sexton for many years, and a faithful member of the Male Chorus. In his later years, he
accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 139 in the
Olive Grove Community.
On Monday, March 6, 2023 at 8:15 pm, an angel from heaven came and he was
received into his heavenly home.
“Little Joe” was an advent giver, and always put the needs of others before his own. He
was “Uncle Joe” to not just his biological nieces and nephews but to others as well. He was
commonly known as the “favorite uncle”. One of his favorite hobbies was grilling and preparing
his famous “Catfish Stew” among a few other dishes.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Mamie Peterson where they were blessed with three
children.
In addition to his parents, Little Joe was preceded in death by a set of twins, and Helen
E. Robinson Myers.
Those left to cherish his fond memories: his wife of 34 years, Mamie; three children: Joe
Nathan (Sadie) Pickens of Phileadelia, PA, Markeda (Roscher) Stuckey of Johnsonville, SC,
and TaJuan Robinson of Florence, SC. Five grandchildren: Roschera, Rylin, Reya of
