Nathaniel Hickson

Mr. Nathaniel Hickson was born on September 14,
1951, to the late Josh Hickson Jr. and Wilhelmenia
Zimmerman Hickson of Lake City, SC. He entered
his eternal rest on August 10, 2023.
Nathaniel worked at Grand Strand Medical for many
years buffing the floors. He also worked at Carters
Mills, The Cannery and many other odd jobs.
Nathaniel joined St. Mark Holiness Church at an
early age under Dr. Linwood Cooper. He served the
church as a choir member, secretary and served on
the Clean Up Committee.
Nathaniel was known by many people and he did
not meet a stranger. He was a man that loved helping
people and he had a very sharp memory and will be
greatly missed.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his grandparents,
Elie Zimmerman and Eula Zimmerman; three sisters:
Lucille (Ronnie) Gaskins, Elizabeth Cleo Gist, and Icy
Bell Mason of Paterson, NJ.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his loving
sisters: Emma Singletary, Willia (Frankie) Bryant,
Awonda (George) Graham of Lake City, SC, and
Naomia (Leroy) Simon of Florence, SC; one uncle,
Wallace McFadden of New York City; one aunt,
Georginia Zimmerman of New Haven, CT; two
special friends: Charles Durner and Joe Frierson; and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
