Obituary
Wilbur Vernard Singletary, son of Willard Jr. and Cyvonne Singletary was born on
December 4, 1967 in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday,
August 28, 2022.
Vernard, known as “bull dog” or “Bodacious” to most, graduated from Lake City High
School in 1985 and received his BS from South Carolina State University. He also was
a member of the South Carolina National Guard and he served his community there
for several years. He was employed over the years at the Department of Corrections,
Disabilities and Special Needs, Palmetto Synthetics, and Waste Zero.
Vernard was a member of the Central Believers Holiness Church where he served as
Church Stewart.
Loved ones who will cherish his memories are: his son, A’mon Tristan Chandler of
Coward SC; his loving father, Willard Singletary Jr. of the home; his loving mother,
Cyvonne Singletary of Lake City; his sisters, Beverly (Gary) Singletary of Winston
Salem NC, Juakema L. Singletary of Columbia SC; his god sister, Shondra (Matthew)
Milligan of Cades SC; his god brother, Pastor Kippie (Tarsha) Brown of Greenville SC;
three uncles, Norman (Irene) Singletary of Florence SC, James Allen Singletary of
Winston Salem NC, Donald Singletary of Raleigh NC; ten aunts, Margaret (Charles)
Perkins of Florence SC, Juanita Patrick of Coward SC, Mary (Jimmy) Bankole of East
Point GA, Bessie Singletary of Springs TX, Estelle McLean of Columbia SC, Barbara
Brown of Lake City SC, Alice (Nathaniel) Lewis of Magnolia TX, Carolyn
(Hutch)Benjamin of Georgetown SC, Bessie Fletcher of Winston Salem NC, Peral
Singletary of Florence SC; one nephew, Tino Trevonne Singletary; Three great nieces,
Naveeh Singletary, T’leiah Singletary, Vela Singletary and a host of cousins and
friends.
